Loved it! I'm a huge fan of animals and so these books thoroughly entertain me. And even though there are tons of characters (most in the form of animals or immortals), things never get too confusing. Daine is becoming a favorite character of mine. Great books!

This is not as good as the first book. And it had moments where it dragged. But once it got going it really got going. A rolicking adventure with a lot of interesting side characters even though a lot of those were animals. And we got to watch Daine's knowledge of her powers increase greatly. In fact she almost seems over-powered like she'd have to be a demi-immortal or something for it to make sense.
I could use a little bit more internal view, a little more backstory, a little more history. But really this works anyway.
