4⭐️ I absolutely loved Libby’s debut novel ‘The Lido’ and had been looking forward to the 24hour cafe for quite some time. Initially I loved the characters or should I say customers entering the cafe as the chapters/hours unfolded, as with the Lido I also loved Libby’s style of writing I can’t explain what it is I like about it but I think it’s something to do with they way she writes and describes people, descriptive and emotional without being ‘to much’ they are all a pleasure to read about.
For me what this lacked compared to ‘The Lido’ was the community fighting for a cause which I loved and had me turning page after page. However the last few pages of this book had me in tears which proves to me how gifted Libby is as a writer and I can’t wait to read her new novel ‘The Island’
❤️

Such a warm and wholesome book about the importance of love and friendship and the ups and downs it can bring. Cozy vibes all round

A lovely, heartwarming story about the comings and going’s of a 24 hour cafe and it’s occupants. I read this at a quick pace and felt drawn into the characters. I also liked the strong theme of the importance of female friendship.

There wasn't enough tension between Hannah and Mona to write a whole book so the author chose to follow side characters. That was the best part of the book. As a woman in my 20s, I like reading about friendships and how they can sometimes be a struggle to maintain, but the lens from which we looked at Hannah and Mona's friendship and its struggles made it come across as almost boring. I also didn't like Hannah at all.

The writing was good and the pacing flowed well, with different POVs interspersed though the chapters. If anything else from this author pops up in my local bookstore, I'll probably check it out, but I won't be going out of my way to find more of her stories.
