I frigging loved this.
I've been watching Live for years, and have been a Kelly fan since the Regis days. I once even camped out to get front row seats when they were here on PEI lol I don't know if you would love this as much if you're not a Kelly fan but I could listen to her talk for hours- which I did. Highly recommend the audiobook, and adding this to your TBR.

I enjoyed listening to this. It was narrated by Kelly. From what I understand, she wrote this book without a ghost writer and I think she displayed a lot of wit and depth. I would have loved more details, but Live Wire is a collection of short-stories rather than a memoir, so it makes sense that we got what we got. She talked about her time on All My Children, meeting Mark, her thoughts/experiences with aging and plastic surgery (appreciate her candor), some embarrassing stories (which definitely had me laughing out loud at times) and parenting (which definitely had my choked up and with tears in my eyes).
The parenting part is going to stick with me, for sure. Every time I look at my kids now I hear, “tick tick” and makes me a little sad but also appreciative.
If you’re a fan of Kelly Ripa, you should listen/read her book. And if you don’t know her well, but want to get to know her better, check out her book!
Listening Length: 9 hours 59 minutes

I enjoyed this book. Well I actually did the audio and I thought it was really funny.
She is a really good story teller.

I will start by saying, I am not a Kelly Ripa fan, and have only seen Live! once or twice since she joined the show, but the hype surrounding this book had me curious.
This was a fluffy memoir at best, and the stories were hit or miss. I was interested to hear that she endured so much misogynistic behavior as a female host, and that Regis was behind a lot of it. I also enjoyed the stories of her taking her kids to college. Most of the other stories had me rolling my eyes.
If you are a Kelly fan, you will probably enjoy this one, but I found her pretty annoying.

Live Wire was a fun listen! Kelly Ripa has always been entertaining to me, even though I'm not a loyal Live viewer. This book was exactly the good time I was expecting. It was humorous, a little heartfelt, and a lot outrageous.
Kelly Ripa is an over-the-top person, but I've always admired her long, seemingly solid (especially for Hollywood) relationship with husband, Mark. They are cute in this book. Her stories about her kids were sweet, and I was actually tearing up with thoughts of my kids heading off to college. Her name dropping stories were less endearing, but I guess some of those are to be expected if she wanted to sell some books.
Ultimately, it was a fun read. Kelly comes off as charming and personable. I highly recommend it on audio as it is read by her and has some funny input from Mark.

If you recently dropped your “baby” off at college, after going to be doing that soon, or cry if you even think about it, you shouldn’t read/listen to Chapter 14 in public!
