Es ist so unfassbar genial was die Autorin geschrieben hat, vor allem die Parallelen zwischen den Geschichten im Buch.

Ups en downs met dit boek. Het mist een ritme/cadans waardoor ik er moeilijk in kom en mijn gedachten er moeilijk bij kan houden. Daarnaast denk ik simpelweg niet vatbaar te zijn voor het onderwerp, het doet mij weinig.
Wel kan ik begrijpen waarom mensen lovend kunnen zijn over dit boek. Het past denk ik simpelweg niet bij mij.
Grappig feit is wel dat ik gegrepen was door het uiterlijk van mijn editie, maar voor mij blijkt de buitenkant zoveel mooier dan de binnenkant, of, toont de binnenkant niet wat ik dacht aan de buitenkant te herkennen. ^_-

Another Elif Shafak book in a row, I finished this one in one sitting after I told myself that it was absolutely unacceptable to spend so much time on a 264 page book.
But, it's startling to imagine how many people and how many lives I have managed to read about in these few pages and I realise that every person in the story needed his/her share of attention and time.

With it's story spread over various timelines, the book is guaranteed to keep your mind engaged. You will need a refreshed and updated memory if you want to get through this book.

By building up characters through the book, the story makes a valid point of how men are connected beyond the shackles time by the virtue of their morals, desires and miseries.
