From my read of the original novel in 1/2013: Entertaining, engrossing, amazing! It is truly incredible how the author wove photographs discovered at various flea markets and garage sales into the story. It was a unique touch and added nice detail to these unique characters. Even more remarkable, he stated in the photo credits “All the pictures in this book are authentic, vintage found photographs, and, with the exception of a few that have undergone minimal postprocessing, they are unaltered.”
The graphic novel was equally enchanting. The graphic illustrations pair perfectly with the photographs from the original novel. Captured the story's essence for those who prefer illustrated storytelling. And this was a fantastic way to "reread" the book prior to digging into the sequel!

Inventive, as I'm sure the novel is. But this illustrated adaptation is really poorly paced, as graphic novels & comics go, to the point that I found it really difficult to read and follow.
They were good but some of the pictures were a little fuzzy
It’s been quite some time since I read the book version of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but reading this brought it all back. I could remember everything about it.
One of my favourite parts of the original books was the accompanying photos and they are completely brought to life in this graphic novel. Cassandra Jean’s art style works so well with the themes of this story. I love how only the pages spent in the loop had colour. This was a very clever design choice and a really nice detail. I love Cassandra Jean’s style, it’s instantly recognisable.
The graphic novel is very detailed and doesn’t skip over any information. I genuinely think you could read this without bothering with the books and still have a clear understanding of what is going on – an incredible feat for a graphic novel if you ask me.
The plot is still so cool and interesting. Reading this has made me sorely regret never continuing the book series. I would love to pick it up again but it’s been far too long, I read the first one in 2016. I’m thinking that because this was so detailed I’m refreshed on the story, but I’m not sure. Let me know if you’ve read the entire series and think it’s worth me doing the same.
Easy and fast to read. Even if i didn't have a good expression on the first book i'm considering continuing the series. The graphic novel certainly did it's job and i'm excited for the movie.
It certainly helps if you've read the novel first, though not necessary. I actually think that if you only read the graphic novel, it covers the crucial events well enough that you could even skip the novel if you want... Maybe Jacob's characterization as a spoiled bratty teen isn't so obvious in the graphic novel, but really, I don't see that as too big of a loss.
After not having been impressed with Cassandra Jean's art in [b:Beautiful Creatures: The Manga|15789361|Beautiful Creatures The Manga|Kami Garcia|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1356453844s/15789361.jpg|19188284], the reason why I even wanted to read the Miss Peregrine graphic novel is because I know she's the artist. Her art style has improved leaps and bounds from the Beautiful Creatures GN. I especially love the transition from b&w to colored pages to highlight an important story detail and to indicate that you're now viewing the world in the loop. I love that she drew each character significantly different enough (but as described in the novel) so that I know which person I'm looking at even if there's no dialogue.
I was very ho-hum about the novel, but this adaptation makes me excited about the series again.

This probably deserves a little better rating than two stars, but I thought the book was the better version so this was just kind of meh having just finished both.
I am forever in love with the book, both in its graphic form and its "normal" form. The illustrations were perfect and I just want to devour it all and also I NEED THE THIRD BOOK. But yeah, this is just perfect.
Rating: 5 stars
These graphic novels are really phenomenal. The illustrations match the story just perfectly and complement it wonderfully. 100% recommend to anyone, familiar with the series or not.
