I received an ARC from an ARC fairy and this is my honest review!

I can't believe that for the longest time, I didn't like Anne-Marie McLemore much. I really need to go back and reread things I read before I got into them because now they're definitely an author I automatically go towards. This book, while sad at times, is ultimately uplifting. It's a look at two teenagers -- a boy and a girl -- who are dealing with being sexually assaulted on the same night and place as each other. Their lives are ultimately intertwined because of that and they have to grapple with it, the girl knowing and the boy not knowing. Lock and Ciela were amazing characters and I loved their story. As I said, it was hard to read at times, but it was a beautiful story. I loved how it grappled with a male survivor of sexual assault, as well as a racial side with Ciela being Latina. Overall, a fantastic read and my favorite that McLemore has ever done.
