I read this in one sitting and it was beautiful. I not normally the type to read romance but this book was definetly an exception. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea especially due to the miscommunication trope and a mc that many people find annoying but I found it really sweet and light hearted.
also drew is not it

i have mixed feelings about this book. i was so excited to read it and honestly i still am thankful i did. it was a great story about trans love and really finding the meaning of true love and understanding that love isn’t some perfect story.
i loved devin, i was very upset at first bc i truly had faith in drew and noah’s relationship but i’m glad the story ended the way it did. the characters personality all seems so much more thrilled and lighthearted they don’t seem stressful? if that makes sense the ending made me so happy and i’m glad the meetcutediary blog finally got commotions and got to express real trans love stories. lowkey wish the whole story would have just been about devin and noah

Noah is an annoying character, and even more annoying as the narrator. Drew is only likeable for part of the book and the side characters aren't appreciated enough by Noah.

He is a character that has next to no character growth, yet all the characters who surround him act as though he's had an epiphany and has done a complete 180.

For a good portion of the book I wasn’t too sure if I was enjoying it as I really did not like Noah. I had to keep reminding myself that he is a teenage boy still learning about life to get me through it! However this story is all about his growth and development as a person through his big life changes. As the changes started to become more obvious, and he started to grow as a person, I really started to connect with him and like him so much more.

In the end, I was crying happy tears and thoroughly enjoying it! Emery does an amazing job at writing the characters and their flaws. E has done some incredible world building for the characters and really made them real, raw, and flawed characters. This was definitely a good read, and I would recommend it.

This is a completely subjective review. I really thought I would enjoy this book  a lot but kinda had to fight my way to finishing it. I wasn’t a fan of the character’s personalities. I don’t think I’ve ever rolled my eyes as much while reading a book as with this one. It’s definitely not the typical fake dating story you usually read and I don’t quite think I’m a fan of that.
I did enjoy the second half/last third of the book a lot more than the beginning which could also be because the characters became more likable for me.
What was nice was actually seeing the characters grow and learn from their behavior. I also quite enjoyed reading about a character who was figuring out which pronouns to use, who didn’t just stop at they/them but explored further. Definitely my favorite character in this book.
