noah absolutely oozes tumblr gay my god
i cannot tell you the REFLIEF i felt when drew and noah broke up. the whole first half of the book i was worried cus i did not like their relationship at all- the maturity gap was weird, drew was so weird abt trans people (him saying hes not gay noah's the exception... ick) also i just loved devin e was great. unfortunately noah did annoy me a little too much to give this a super high rating😠he was tough to root for and just came across and super entitled a lot of the time. his first impression of devin was so weird. e were nothing but lovely and he just hated em?? loved the show of the journey devin went through regarding eir identity, and i honestly think im just biased towards em. becca deserved better.
honestly i dont think i quite grasped how long a time period this book was, beacuse noah saying he was in love with devin felt REALLY QUICK. like, unbelievably fast. i liked their relationship but that part weirded me out (perhaps im just aroace).

I got recommended this book because of the LGBT themes of this book. I enjoyed it more than I thought at first before reading it.
One thing that stuck with me most with the book was how Noah respected Devin's exploration of eir pronounce. Starting to use the new pronounce immediately after Devin tells him that e wants to change it.
Also the thing with Drew, despite being seeing through rose-colored glasses throughout the majority of the book, not staying the love interest at the end, once it was discovered that he and Noah weren't compatible together. It is a good example of a young person having their own idea of what love should look like and falling head over heels for someone that seems perfect at first glance. After breaking up with Drew, before Noah and Devin end up together, these two formed a good friendship first. Respecting each others boundaries and such. Even before Noah confesses his feelings towards Devin, there is a feel that e is much better for Noah compared to Drew.
Brian, Noah's brother was a really well build character and a good example of an ally. It had been established early on that Brian and his girlfriend Maggie were really into each other, so when Maggie shared her opinion to Brian, showing that she sees Noah as a girl despite knowing that he is a trans man, Brian could have tried to keep Maggie in his life and try to support Noah in his own way but as the scene progresses, it is revealed that Brian broke up with Maggie. It had been showed on numerous occasions that Brian really cares for Noah but, at least for me, that scene solidified that feeling for me.

I wanted to love this more than I did, but I spent the entire time pulled so far out of reality when lee started talking about going "tumblr viral". This felt less for teens and more like someone clinging to their glory days. The characters and story were alright, but nothing revolutionary; I loved the angle of the blog, and the general concept; positivity is something that's few and far between on the internet, however I think naming an actual social media website is what really pulled away from the story, especially with something that's already losing relevance.
An alright story, but one that could've done with a bit more time.

I excepted more from this book. I didn't like the main character and felt that he lacked some character growth, the effort was made but it didn't really work I think. Devin was a really cute character though. I still am giving this book two stars because I love the concept and idea, but I feel like this book was a bit rushed.

I didn’t like the mc at first. Then I thought about the fact that he was supposed to be 16, being in his first relationship, where he has to struggle with a manipulative asshole! .
The whole drama of the blog that this book surrounds feels to me a little bit flat and pointless. I understand that part of this is the struggle of the internet and how to handle the internet when people come at you.
I maybe would have liked this when I was 16, but now it just feels a bit flat with a seethough plot.
I liked Devin a lot, e is amazing.
In comparison to other books with transgender mc, this also felt very flat. Noah being a transgender doesn’t really stands in the middle of this. He is not really struggling and has a supportive environment, so if you search for a main character that tries to figure himself out or anything, this is no book for you.
This was a quick read and I wouldn’t actually recommend it.

Cute & Sweet! But felt much too young for me (I am an ancient 24 years old).
Wasn't vibing with it and needed to return to library. Maybe will try again later.
