I liked book 2 MUCH more than book 1, there are aspects of this book I wish were less rigid. Also I basically cringe everytime they say “female”

Impressive. I found this book to be much better than book one. We have here a love triangle, Tamlin how will you redeem yourself...things just went downhill so fast. Anywho, I'm not sad. I'll always root for a good antihero lol.  Boy does Rhysand deliver, that entrance woooo and we get to learn more about their bond. Feyre undergoes so much growth mentally and as a character. The world building had me in pieces. I wish I were an artist to draw everything. Sigh. Jumping into book 3 asap.

This book is what I expected Maas to write. There was a more shocking plot and the
slow burn romance
was perfect for my tastes. The political aspect of the book is similar to fourth wing 🙌.

I enjoyed this sequel far more than the first book in the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses. The political scheming and world building was so much stronger, which are always my favorite part of fantasies.
I also appreciated the romance of Feyre and Rhysand, it felt far more fleshed out than the romance of the previous novel. Maybe it is because I like Rhysand better than Tamlin as he feels like a much more fleshed out character with understandable motives and feelings.
In addition, I loved the the cast of friends surrounding the Night Court. I felt like their addition led to far more fleshed out characters with motives, backgrounds, and feelings that influenced the plot in interesting ways. Overall, I just think this installment had more going for it as while there was romance it took more of a back set to the political intrigue, world building, and character development. I am excited to see how this builds in the next novel especially with the twist at the end. Also, with how well Sarah Maas tied in trauma healing in this novel it will be intriguing to see how the trauma of this twist plays out in the next novel. Excited to read more.
