If I told you I was reading a book with dark black glittering stone that was made into rings by an evil king who was actually a more powerful being than a king and it gave people headaches and controlled their magic and the king built castles and towers out of it to block magic, and then also told you that that king was out to murder a young woman who was the lost queen of a rival kingdom who has the power of a god despite not knowing how to wield it and is accompanied by said king’s heartthrob son who had betrayed him to side with the woman, you would assume I am reading an entirely different book.

It really had me saying “she’s turned it around with this one, I actually like this” until the last 100 pages were nothing but deja vu for another author’s books. If I’m right and she goes under the mountain to fight the evil royal and compete in trials or tests in the next book I’m going to lose what’s left of my marbles.

What in the ever loving f*ck was with that ending! This book made my heart happy multiple times throughout the story and then right at the end *bam* my heart gets stomped all over. If book 4 doesn't start with a twist to make everything ok again, I quit 😂

I knew I was in for a ride when I started the book and *bam* plot twist right in the first chapter. I knew from that moment that it would be an interesting journey.

The slow burn push and pull in the first half was killing me, but then *stuff* happens 😏 and I was temporarily happy. Buuuut, am I allowed to stay happy? No, apparently not. It was false hope 😭

I really enjoyed Gabriel's pov in this book. I love that broody winged male. Atlas can go f*ck himself, and I hope he rots.

Still the same old Romantasy kind of book but it’s well written. And chapter 25 alone is worth the bump up in stars
