Abridged version ... Biker Gangs
Did NOT like what happens with Det. Ryan in this book. Not surprised, but not happy he's not in the book more.
Brennan's nephew plays a big part in this book. Kit comes for a visit & hooks up with a Biker gang and gets stuck smack dab in the middle of a gang war.

I liked the previous 2 books of Temperance Brennan, especially the second one. However this one seems to drag on. It gets more interesting towards the end, in the last 70 pages or thereabouts.
I will try the next one in the series later on, because I like the characters, and not every book in a series is always good. There are good ones, and there are bad ones. It just happens that this one is a bad one.

It's almost out of bounds to complain that a detective novel describes unrealistic behavior and people who say or do implausible things strictly in service of the plot. But in this instance, maybe because there seems to be a stab at gritty realism in play, I found it consistently grating. The protagonist has appalling judgment throughout, including at least three actions that should probably cost her her job... yet at the end, her peers solemnly show her their new-found respect. That part is kind of cringey.

I liked the first two books. They weren't great but they were alright. But Deadly Decisions is the one that I just couldn't get into or even enjoy reading and I even tried for about 220 pages before I just skipped to the end and it wasn't a worth while ending as the plot has not varied from the first one where one of her family members are in danger. Also the thing with Ryan was predictable.
I would advise anyone who is wanting to read this in order should just skip this one because this isn't worth the time reading at all.

"When innocent blood is spilled, she deciphers the shattering truth it holds.
Nine-year-old Emily Anne Toussaint is fatally shot on a Montreal street. A North Carolina teenager disappears from her home, and parts of her skeleton are found hundreds of miles away. The shocking deaths propel Tempe Brennan from north to south, and deep into a shattering investigation inside the bizarre culture of outlaw motorcycle gangs - where one misstep could bring disaster for herself or someone she loves." (From Amazon)
A good forensic mystery starring Temperance Brennan. This case involves the motorcycle gangs of Montreal.
