Quiet a confusing story overall, the story meanders through many different plot points and I couldn't tell where the pivotal moments were. Very low-stakes overall it felt but I think the stakes were intended to be higher I struggled to understand characters' motivations at some points and the ending was very anti-climatic.

It is very well-written with some lovely prose in it, just not the book for me

Harrow|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1548174710l/43521657._SY75_.jpg|63516505] (both of which I absolutely loved) than [b:The Starless Sea|43575115|The Starless Sea|Erin Morgenstern|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1617715077l/43575115._SY75_.jpg|66444785] (which I really, really did not). This one has occasional lovely moments on a word-to-word, sentence level — but just feels so disjointed and disconnected that it was a slog to get through.
