Before reading :
I enjoy this genre of revenge female serial killers. I wonder how this one is going to be unique from the other’s, well there is the aspect that she has a crush on a man which could be interesting.
This was released the same day as [b:The Ministry of Time|199798179|The Ministry of Time|Kaliane Bradley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1716480921l/199798179._SY75_.jpg|147432651] and both of these were very anticipated reads and the ministry of time was boring, so I really hope this is better.
After reading : Such a quick read, but I skimmed the last part because I lost interest.
I didn’t expect that we’ll get the POV of her crush aswell.
Naaaaah don’t let this be the reveal ! Literally guessed the killer 54 pages in. Absolute Trash

✨ "That's something you can always predict about men: they think they're invincible."
Refreshing, but not what I expected. Or wanted.
I'm a sucker for femrage revenge thrillers with unapologetically badass protagonists, but there was more romance than murdering here, which was a letdown. The book started with so much promise but felt like it never reached its full potential.
The whodunit was obvious due to the small cast, but the characters and their POVs were compelling enough to keep me turning the pages. Saffy was such a delight! Her voice and personality really shone through, though I have mixed feelings about her being so sappy about a man.
An enjoyable read, but there are much better books in the same subgenre.
Thank you to Abrams for the Netgalley ARC.
✨ "You know that saying: behind every great man is a great woman? What it really means is this. Behind every man, no matter what his merit, there is a perfectly normal woman working her ass off to make sure that everything works out the way it's supposed to, without getting any of the credit, while the man basks in the praise."

I really got into the *idea* of this book, but it just fell flat for me. I really, really wanted to like it but I never got invested with either of our main characters. In fact, there are chunks of the plot that went by and I have no idea what happened, nor did I feel inclined to rewind (via audiobook) to catch what I missed. It was just overall meh.

3.5/5 ⭐️
When rom-com meets suspenseful female revenge thriller!
Saffy- drop dead gorgeous, and leaving a trail of bodies in her wake.
Jonathan- true crime podcaster who believe in justice, but finds himself mixed in with the wrong crowd.
This was a super enjoyable listen, easy to follow and stay tuned in. Witty and clever, this book will get you out of a reading slump!
What worked for me:
• themes & social issues (sexual assault, pedophilia, domestic abuse)
• clever clues/foreshadowing sprinkled throughout
• dual POV, with character backstories that build a foundation for their personalities.
I do wish that Saffy was able to show off her ‘real’ side more, but maybe in future books ?!?
Thank you #NetGalley for this audio ARC of #BadMen

Gyaaah!! My netgalley audio broke at 96%! I ended up shelling out the twelve bucks to get the ebook just to see the ending. That ought to be enough of a review, but I'll keep going.
This was so much fun. Saffy is a sneaky serial killer and socialite who has zero tolerance for bad men. When she develops a monster crush on Jon, a true crime podcaster with a pretty good track record and some sort of magnetism to serial killers... you see where this is going.
As much as I enjoyed this, I'm holding off on the 5-star rating because of what the protagonist did to the dog. Also the opening scene was ehhhhhh not my favorite. Thankfully, that's the extent of the animal and child abuse. All the rest is deserved.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, the narrator, and the publisher for providing a copy of this audio in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 probably??? I was genuinely enjoying this up until the last 50 pages. The ending just didn’t hit for me in the way that I needed it to. Not the best writing in the world, but a fun read most of the way through.
