I can't believe this series is over. So bittersweet. What a fantastic series though.. definitely made my list of all time favorite series.

Okey so if you haven’t read the book stop reading this...
I usually don’t make book reviews and I don’t even know how to make one but let me just say that this book made me so happy!!! I was never bored and I just wanted to continue reading and reading I love these characters so much and I was so nervous all the time because I didn’t want anything bad happening to them.
The only thing that makes me sad is Adrian!! He is my favorite character and he is just so precious and I want the best for him so obviously his ending in this book didn’t make me happy but I know he is important in the bloodline series so... I GOT SOMETHING TO READ!!
Overall this book was amazing and perfect. Richelle is such a good writter I was hooked all the time!!!
I’m a sucker for this!! Hahaha sorry but I needed to say it (gonna regret it soon) 💜

In spite of this somewhat happy achievement of finishing a series, Last Sacrifice was one of the most painful things for me to read. Nay, listen to. Listen to. And check out the book info - yeah SEVENTEEN HOURS LONG. Painfully long, horrendously boring, and leading to the most clichéd and sickening ending. I should have stopped after book 3. I honestly do not know why I did this to myself. It's one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I don't even really want to talk about this anymore because for the majority of listening to this audiobook, I was yelling, "FUCK YOU ROSE!" out loud and making gagging sounds and I don't want to relive a single second of it.
But, okay, here are some THINGS you have to accept if you have any hopes of liking this book and, ultimately, this series.
1. Dimitri is a GOD.
And Rose will remind you of this any chance she gets. He is the strongest fighter ever. He has a god-like body. And obviously his god status absolves him of anything he did in Siberia. He was not himself. Dimitri is flawless. (Admittedly, I also have extreme difficulty finding him even remotely attractive because of the creepy and cringeworthy Russian accent the narrator gives him.)
2. Rose is the best ever.
She's not annoying at all. She's hot, and every guy understandably falls at her feet. The guy at the crazy hippie commune instaloving all over her? Yeah, that was cool. I can totally get that. And it's not like she selfishly uses everyone around her to further her own and Lissa's agenda. Adrian, Jill, they're just peasants compared to Rose - tools to be used. And she makes great speeches, especially when getting to dramatically reveal a surprise murderer, and no, that certain murderer's relative didn't deserve to get a heads up about that.
3. Rose and Dimitri are
4. Adrian?
5. Lissa is goodness incarnate. And that makes her so cool and interesting.
Man, it's so awesome when characters are completely freaking flawless and perfect. That didn't make the plot here completely predictable as fuck. It made Lissa the opposite of the most boring character ever. I would totally give my life to protect her. SHE COMES FIRST.
6. Stories that drag on and on and on are super awesome.
17 hours is still pretty short in my eyes. And I mean, it was only like 70% romantic melodrama. God how I wish there had been more.
Summing Up:
This book pissed me the fuck off. Clearly. I can't even with this shit. You don't read Richelle Mead books for plot. It was so thin here, and it dragged on for ages. The twists and conclusions were either completely predictable (and thus boring) or pulled out of thin air with no basis and probably leaving plenty of plot holes behind. But I wouldn't even know that, because I stopped caring. You read Richelle Mead books for romance, and if you are not on the right ship, you will continually want to vomit your brains out.
I thought I would be excited to be able to move on to Bloodlines now, and I still think I have a better chance of liking that series, but I need a break. I need space. It's not you, it's me. I just need the right kind of balance in my life. And other break-up clichés that Rose uses unironically.
GIF it to me straight!

Indeed, Rose killing Victor was MUCH worse than any of the things Dimitri did. Victor was just a stand up guy, after all.2. Rose is the best ever.

meant to be together.Spoiler
They are the perfect match. There is no equal. Chemistry? Meh. That guy kidnapped and tortured you? Meh. His personality isn't super boring either. He's a god and their souls are linked so none of this matters.4. Adrian?
Spoiler
I mean he's nice. But he's not Dimitri. So that makes it completely okay to cheat on him.Spoiler
I can't keep up my sarcasm for this point because I wanted to smash shit into walls when Rose honestly CHEATS on Adrian. Not that her emotional cheating all the time before that was okay, and yeah, the way she was using him just because she couldn't bare to be alone for five seconds also pissed me off. But she CHEATS on him. She has SEX with Dimitri, while in a relationship with Adrian. And then she hardly feels guilty about it at all, because, I mean, come on, it's Dimitri, and we're made for each other, and I'll just deal with Adrian later - after he's of no more use to me. When she finally has that conversation with him and he is RIGHTFULLY outraged, she has the nerve to sound like the most condescending bitch in the world. I hate you, Rose. I seriously hate you. You don't deserve even a shred of Adrian's love.5. Lissa is goodness incarnate. And that makes her so cool and interesting.

You might be wondering why it has taken me until June to put up a review for this book since it came out in December. Well, I kept putting off the final chapter in the Vampire Academy series because I knew once I read it, that was it. No more Rose, well at least no more Rose as a narrator. I am going to miss her, she is by far my favorite heroine in the YA world. She has such a memorable voice and a presence that I have not found anywhere else in the YA world. She will be impossible to replace.
Onto the story, we pick up where we left off with Rose. She has managed to get herself into another crazy situation and is now on the run. Her friends are trying to keep her safe and stash her in a remote town and tell her to wait. Ha, have they met Rose? Of course she is not just going to sit around and wait, and so the adventure begins.
As in previous books the bond between Rose and Lissa allows the reader to stay with Rose and check in on Lissa occasionally. This gives the reader the chance to see what is going on in both worlds, so you get the whole story. I always thought it was such a clever way to give multiple perspectives of the story while still remaining in Rose’s head full time. She really does put a nice sarcastic spin on everything that keeps humor peppered into the story right where it is needed.
It was also interesting to see the many mysteries that have been present since book one, wrap up nicely in Last Sacrifice. Earlier plot lines that I had long forgotten came to the forefront and played a vital role in both Lissa and Rose’s life. Plus, there were quite a few shocking moments in there that I did not see coming at all. Especially many events that unraveled there at the end. Way to go Richelle, nice plot twists!
Overall, I just love this series. Rose is not only my favorite female protagonist, she is my favorite YA character period. I have loved being a part of her world and in her head while she navigated her way through life. While the series is over and all major issues have been resolved, we are still left with many sub plots that are not quite finished. I am hoping the new spin off series will address some of these issues and even let us see some of the Vampire Academy gang again every now and then.

Can't believe I've finished the series! Really enjoyed this series as a whole.

The book was awesome, but I feel bad for Adrian because he deserves something better after all he did for Rose. I would like to see him again in the spin-off series which is apparently coming out on August 23, 2011 (currently untitled).
Despite a bunch of cannon breaks (you can see it in other reviews here), I believe this as an awesome end to the story. I like Rose pretty much, despite all her lack of remorse. I love Adrian, even more than Dimitri, but I never saw him with Rose. Never. For me, she would just run over him and make him her puppet, when he's way more than that.
I loved that she saw it.
For the development, there was quite and amount of plot twists and I felt that there were some storylines that where completely unecessary. Oh, have anyone realised that Rose always catch Lissa in an fortunate time? Does the Mighty Princess Dragomir NEVER go to the bathroom?
And I really hope "Bloodlines" will be even funnier, for Sidney is a character that, I believe, is better than Rose in several aspects. Like I read somewhere, I need a protagonist who is strong without the need of kicking ass or being "ninja".
So, that's it, for now.

I don’t know how to describe my love for this series.
It was like the 5th time, I reread it and in some magical way, I still feel the same emotions.
It has been 10 years, but these books are still out of time. I haven’t read another vampire world that would be so well written.
My love for Rose and Dimitri is endless. Their journey, the whole one and especially in the last book so overwhelming and full of love. That immortal love that is never faid.
I love Lissa too, their friendship and how they complete each other even without a bond, is amazing. Christian will always be my favorite too.
Adrian doesn’t deserve what happened to him, but I think it is inevitable, it’s how personé grows.
I just so happy that ten years ago I asked my mom to buy me a book with a very beautiful girl on the cover and a vampire headline.
“What was love, really? Flowers, chocolate, and poetry? Or was it something else? Was it being able to finish someone's jokes? Was it having absolute faith that someone was there at your back? Was it knowing someone so well that they instantly understood why you did the things you did—and shared those same beliefs?”
