You know that sinking feeling you get when you know something amazing has finished and you know you can read it again and again but still not have that feeling of first laying eyes on the words that you've come to love so dearly? I have that feeling.
This book...It had the perfect ending and when i finished i felt my heart sting a little at having finished reading Rose's journey but i was also happy because this series is perfection. I loved every moment. The good, the bad, the happy, the sad, the annoying, the funny, the angry and so much more. This series offers so much and so many emotions go through you when you read it. I still can't believe that it's all over. I know that in the future i will be picking up this series again because i know i'll never tire of reading this story. It's been an amazing adventure and is definitely one of my most favored series out of all the oens i've read. And in my review i will let you know why...
I’m not going to give any details of the plot line because I don’t really want to spoil the ending but it started off exactly where Spirit Bound ended and Rose is in trouble. It seems that wherever she goes in this last book trouble follows her but her friends are there to back her up.
There is so much action woven into this last instalment and just when you think it can’t get better it does. So much happens and I loved every single word that I read. There was the political side to this book that interested me as well as the friendship and the love. I didn’t hate a single thing about it and I literally cannot fault this series. This series has everything a great book should have. There are so many secrets within this book and lots of twists and turns that will shock you to no end.
Love. It’s a big theme in this book and the guys in this series...they make my heart flutter and make me grin like a fool. Adrian is so funny with his smoking addiction and wanting to always be there for Rose and do whatever it takes to make her happy. I’d love a guy like him but Dimitri is the one for me. There’s no doubting it that Rose and Dimitri will be together. It’s inevitable but their journey has been a roller coaster. There’s been so many obstacles (who could forget what happened at the end of Shadow Kiss, that ending devastated me and I cried) and believe me, I had tears at one point in this book. There is so much chemistry between them and I loved everything that happened between them. They made me laugh, smile, cringe, cry and at one point I wanted to slap Dimitri so hard for being a fool but I knew they’d get there happy ending.
Rose...I’m going to miss her so much. I’ve never read a character like her before and she is just so likeable. I know I’ll miss her Rose-logic that I’ve come to know and love so much and her sarcasm and witty comments will definitely stick with me for a while. And Dimitri’s life lessons, I’ll miss those too. But I know that I will eventually read this series again and I will fall in love with it all over again.
I don’t know if I’m ready to say goodbye to this series, to Rose’s journey and I know that I’ll probably never love a series as much as I love this one. I know that there is the spin-off series but really, will it ever be the same again? I think not.
This book actually surprised me at certain parts. Things happened that I didn’t expect and characters did things that made me gasp. There were sides to Rose that I hadn’t seen before, ones that were scared and vulnerable and unsure.
When I turned the last page and saw the acknowledgements section my stomach dropped and a little noise escaped my throat. My first thought was, “That’s it. The end...I don’t want it to end.”
My next message is directed at Richelle: Thank you so much for making me fall in love with your world and its characters. It’s been a journey that I loved and I cannot wait to read Bloodlines. And if you haven’t read this series yet or are thinking about it...Stop waiting around because you have no idea what you’re missing.

I loved every one of these books. The only real problem I had with this book was Adrian. He was royally screwed over and I felt so bad for him. Guess I'll have to read Bloodlines now. I feel like I will appreciate those characters even more.

If I'm honest, I don't have that much to write about Last Sacrifice. It's a book that I was so desperate to read that I read it probably too quickly intent on getting to that all-important last chapter in which I finally know, for sure, if these beloved characters of mine would get their happily-ever-after.
I wish now that I'd read this book a little slower, took in more of the details, but it really isn't that type of book. Reading this book felt like a mixture of desperation, excitement and anxiety all at once. And I am very happy with the ending. I finished this book with a content smile on my face and with the lovely thought of a spin-off involving Sydney, the alchemist. I really couldn't be happier. I'm excited to read more books set in this same world but nervous about the change in perspective. Will I love another character as much as I loved Rose Hathaway? We shall see. A wonderful conclusion to one of my favourite ever series of books!

If it weren't for some issues I had with the book, I definitely would have given it 4 stars, bc I really liked it. This time it wasn't only Rose trying to save everybody, but everybody trying to save Rose too. All their friends from the whole series had finally gathered for the greater good.
I liked the journey Rose was on outside the court as I "supposed murderer". She got to some interesting places, and we got to like a few more characters (Sydney for sure, but also Sonya). The gang.
I loved how closer Rose got with Abe during their conversations and how he was there for her. The banter between Janine and Abe was funny, so what I needed.
His book is about a lot of things, friendship, loyalty, honor, love and trust. Which brings me to Dimitri. Oh boy, a character I loooooved, even as a Strigoi for some reason. But at the court, after the whole thing with Lissa (trying not to spoil here), I got so annoyed. I get where it comes from, but come on comrade, it's your second chance. Luckily he pulled himself together afterwards and returned to a bit softer but still the same Dimitri.
Lissa really stepped up in this book. Doing things for herself, going her own way (as much as she could) and following her heart.
Before I go to the things that really annoyed me, I want to address that the end of this book didn't feel like an ending at all. Too many untouched subjects and characters. I know it's the end for Rose's story, which I've loved to follow. She's a brave, reckless, trustworthy and fierce character no matter what people say. She'll sacrifice anything for the people she loves, and she also did do that.
Now onto the main reason why I gave this book 3 and 4 stars. It's all about the boy saying little dhampir . Yes, it's Adrian. Some subjects I can't tolerate in books, no matter the reason, no matter that the main character knows how wrong it is . That is something I can't overlook. I felt so sad towards the ending bc of the talk.
No more ranting from me. I've really enjoyed the whole series and can't believe I haven't read them before. It will always hold a special place.
Another short thing that annoys me is, the ending is like: You must reed the next series. It doesn't fulfill this series completely for me. And I don't know if I can bear to read the sequel series. Let's see. Maybe when some time has passed I will pick up this world again bc let's face it, I'm a curious person!

it's the cheating part I'm talking about. I KNOW that Rose didn't want to cheat on Adrian, but the fact is that she did. Even though I love Rose and Dimitri much doesn't make it acceptable in any wayNo more ranting from me. I've really enjoyed the whole series and can't believe I haven't read them before. For the last book to a six-instalment series, I definitely expected better. So Rose was wrongfully accused of high treason, and she was on the search for something to help change the Moroi system, whatever. On paper, it should've been at least moderately exciting. But at some instances in the start to middle of the book, I felt so... bored. And at times, irritated. Mostly because of Rose, because of her bratty thoughts and emo melodrama moments with beloved, hot, god-like Dimitri. Good lord. I have one major issue with her, and her relationship with Dimitri, mostly because there's cheating involved. That was a reason for me to dock a star off alone. Cheating is shit, especially when it's not condemned or criticised in the story.
Finally finished this reread.
This book reads much differently now that I’m an adult than it did when I first read it at 16 but I still love it so much.

A great ending to the series! My only complaint is that I feel like this book, along with the first in the series, lacks the action that the other books have. In some parts of this book, I felt the plot was dragging but overall, it was still an excellent read. One thing I have to commend Mead on doing well, is the vampire politics. I loved that aspect of this book. We got a more in depth look at the politics.
Crying bc I don't want to let this series go. It was so, so amazing. I don't even know what to say.
