JA Huss has enthralled me, AGAIN!
This book is slightly disturbing, very compelling, and completely captivating. The raw, gritty and almost hopeless perspective had my gut churning at times. I will not lie ... parts of this book gave me some serious anxiety. I really felt like I may have a nervous breakdown, right alongside the main character (Shannon).

There is nothing better (for me) than a book that takes a hard look at life and the people we encounter in it. Knowing that this book is self-reflective of the author just makes it 100 times better. I love that Julie takes chances in her writing ... I love that she's willing to explore the uncomfortable topics that so many are too afraid or unwilling to touch. This book is an extraordinary example of how fucked up life can really be. I'm just glad that there's authors out there, like Ms. Huss, who give voice to the underdogs, the forgotten and the lost.
This book proves that, while fairy tales may not be real, even the hardest parts of life can turn out okay.
An amazing read! It's so much more than the synopsis (or my crappy review) could even begin to describe.
One of the best books of the year! Fan-fucking-tastic!!! <3

Coming of age…18
The New Young Adult, Coming of Age genre isn’t what I usually gravitate towards, but the blurb was intriguing. Eighteen was many moons ago, but somehow the experiences of the main character are still relevant. Eighteen. The age where one becomes a legal adult but most aren’t prepared for the struggles that come with adulting. Working the process is exactly what we all have to learn at some point.
Well written story and despite the genre, it’s a book most people can relate to in some form or another.

This book was equal parts disturbing and fascinating....
Shannon is a strong girl, but as smart and strong as she is, she still is only 18... Mateo is the older man, not only is he 10 years older, but he is also her teacher (sort of)... The mom in me cringed quite a few times in this book, I understood Shannon's life circumstances were very different from that of my daughter, but still... Mateo left me extremely conflicted, was he a good guy? Was he just a creep? There were moments I thought he was so good for Shannon, and other moments I felt as though he was taking complete advantage of the situation.... I personally would have rated this book 5 stars, if Matteo was not 10 years older and if he was not in a position of authority, I loved the story, but I just had a hard time with this fact, as I do in any book with this plotline...

Well I don't know about you, but I'm all hot for teacher! Damn this book was not only really good but wicked hot too.
I really like Shannon, but her life kinda sucked. Moved around with her sister, there's no roots for her. You can't help but feel bad for her, poor girl couldn't catch a break.
"Invisible, that's what I am. I guess I should get used to it."
I just need a minute to talk about Mateo. Hello there you. Mr. Astronomer, Mr. Adventurous. Mr. Mega Hotness. At first I wasn't sure what was going on with him. I thought we were going to have a stage four creeper on our hands. But oh no! He just really has a hard on for Shannon and just wants to be her friend.
"I'm gonna be seeing a lot of you, Shannon Drake. There's no way in hell you'll be invisible to me."
Oh man, what a story. I really enjoyed this one, like a lot. Pretty much all the characters blow me away. I think it's time for a reread!

I wish there was more buildup Instead of being thrusted into the taboo relationship. Otherwise it's wasn't bad.
18 is hard, because your considered an adult now, so basically, you need to get your shit together. We've all been there.
Shannon has been giving the short end of the stick. She doesn't have anyone to rely on, she just lost her sister. It seems the world is against her.
Shannon takes it in stride though, She doesn't give up. She just rolls with punches and delivering a few of her own. I loved Shannon, she might be one of my favorite heroines.
She is smart but doesn't realize it. She thinks she just has a good memory. She just wants to be invisible and get trough life, but she meets Mateo, her teacher, and he sees her and pushes her.
Mateo, is a mystery throughout the book, we don't really know if he's good for Shannon. He's kinda of creepy, I was wondering at one point if this was going to turn into a darker romance LOL.

But it makes for a very sexy story.
I loved it. I haven't found a teacher student romance that I've liked and loved this one. While this story is sexy, is has so much more.
Good stuff

What the eff did I just read? This was so messed up, but so good. The characters were so good, but completely unpredictable. The whole book was unpredictable!
18 HOT Star’s
There have been a hand full of books I wished I could give more than a 5 star rating. This is one of them so I give it 18 Star’s yep. This book blew my mind, in the most delicious of ways.
Shannon, needs credits to graduate. You have to wonder what the hell is going on in the school system for them to miss she needed some important credits. Even if she technically had more then they needed over all.
So back to school for more credits! And this is where her life is never going to be the same again.
Enter HOT AF Teacher.. Mr. Alesci, aka Mateo. In my head I call him Mr. Hottie. What I can’t help it. The first few chapters you are going to be sucked in to this mysterious yummy man.
The heat these two generate leaps in to your ears and sinks in to your brain.
There are parts of Shannon’s life I wish I could kick for her.. Like her brother in-law. But I don’t want to get into all that, you need to experience that yourself and come up with your own opinions. Her niece though to cute.
Back to Mr. Hottie did I mention he lives’ across the street from her? I didn’t well think of the possibilities this holds, and he like to bring out her naughty girl side. So let’s just take a sec and fan our self.. .HOT, HOT, HOT.. HOOOOTTT.
‘But I smile. Even though he creeps me out, he does it in all the right ways.’
‘I’ll probably regret that soon. I usually do.’ – Shannon
Yeah these little tid bits have stuck with me, so I had to share.
Worth the credit HECK yes!
I loved Ava Erickson performance so hard in this book. There isn’t one thing I wished was different. Defiantly a narrator I will buy from again.
*All my Reviews are 100% honest and my own.*

Eighteen was one HOT HOT HOT read!!! I'm a J.A. Huss fan and will read anything that she writes. However I wasn't so sure about Eighteen after seeing that this was a student/teacher relationship book, but I gave in, and HOT DAMN!! I'm abso-fuckin-lutley glad that read this book!!

Shannon just turned 18 and finds out that she may not be able to graduate due to being short a few class's based on the new high school requirements. Little does Shannon know that her life will be turned upside down when her guidance counselor enrolls her in night classes. Mateo is Shannon's night school teacher for Trig who is also in the process of finishing up his college dissertation. However after getting to know Shannon Mateo is so taken that he has to make her his. This is were things get HOT!!

Eighteen is MUST read of 2015!!!
