Standby: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (WQUZ News Book 1) by Brandy Ayers is a great read and will have you laughing and crying along with our main character. She is sexy and oh so sassy but is always looking after everyone else before herself. It is a sexy romantic story that is also tender and yet heartbreaking with a touch of suspense.
Chris has a way about him that you just love him. Mira is strong and loving and has met her match. Together they are funny and loving and their banter is top notch. But will all be lost when a fan is unable to help himself and puts his obsession in danger?
Brandy is one of my favourites and is a gifted writer. I am eagerly awaiting to see what is next in this series.

This was an amazing book! Two rivals from different news stations, have sparks fly despite some reluctance on Mira's side.
Chris Noble and Mira Simpson work for competing news stations, and are now both on the crime beat. What starts as harmless flirting, leads to a date, but with Mira's homelife stress and now her safety in danger from a fan, she pushes him away the best way she knows how.
Can she live her life the way she envisions she has to, or can she have a future and still keep up her responsibilities to her family?
I loved the banter and the suspense. Great read and I cant wait to read the reat of this series.

Standby had me laughing from the very first chapter. It was instant love that I felt for Chris and Mira. Chris and Mira colliding is like sitting down to watch a fireworks show with a glass of your favourite wine.
While there were incredibly funny moments, as well as insanely hot loving, Standby had some serious issues thrown in. This book really has it all. Chris and Mira clashed so many times, it was ridiculously humorous, but other times it could break your heart and have you sobbing.
Mira had an overwhelming sense of family and loyalty, which lots of times had her and Chris cracking heads. Chris was so patient and understanding, that he saw right through the facade Mira puts on, and deposits himself in her heart and there is no way he is ever leaving.
Standby is a story for all, with a little something for everyone. This story was crazy funny, tenacious, gritty, witty, heartbreaking, heartwarming and a true testament to Brandy Ayers’ talent. Their story was sad at times, but a true joy of discovery and love for readers to enjoy. This is my first time reading work by this author, but her books are ones I will be eagerly seeking in the future. Chris and Mira found each other and will have a wonderful life together, and one thing is certain, their lives will never know a dull moment.
