Never too soon is the second book in Anaya’s world series. Although I haven’t read the first book, the story and characters were clear and understandable. Its good enough to be a standalone novel! The story revolves around Anaya’s life and relationships. Her character and the situations she goes through, has been penned so relatable by the author. You can feel how Anaya feels around her dysfunctional relatives. The book captures Anaya’s true feelings and made me feel for her! Its emotional and lovely at the same time. Things happen for a reason and you cross paths with ur ex for a reason. This has been beautifully portrayed by the author. Definitely gonna read the first book in Anaya’s world and other books from the author. Don’t miss this great read.
Thank you Voracious Readers only and the author for reader’s copy of the book. This review is my own and was not influenced in any way!

Ah Anaya… A bad ass woman with a complicated life. As I got to know her by reading this book, I had the thought that she probably would’ve cried to Surface Pressure like I did. There was a lot of back-and-forth between childhood memories and present day. One of the things I really appreciate about this book is the scenes that include therapy. There’s such a stigma surrounding mental health and I’m happy that this book is talking about it and presenting it in a positive light. I really enjoyed reading about the ladies friendships. They were so real; they were loving but they called each other out, they were forgiving but we’re still themselves. A reason I requested this RC was because it took place in Alameda county, which I work in

Okay, so I had not liked the first book at all. I still dont like this one but Catie and Sophie almost almost saved it. I still don’t care much for Anaya and Jeff. Didn’t like their whole thing previously, didn’t like it this time either. I am just glad I got to the end. Because it failed to draw me in and get me invested in the story. Really sorry. But this book was not for me. I liked it a little better than the first one but it still wasn’t enough.

Special thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for this review copy.

I can't decide on a rating for this one yet. I just didn't connect or become invested in the story told or the characters which is what I experienced in the first book as well. They both made for quick reading though. I hesitate to leave a low star rating when I believe that I am simply not the right reader for this story. I hate it when I can't put my finger on what is missing for me with a story.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I. Loved. This. Book.

Everything about it was so refreshing and enjoyable. The main character, Anaya, was so relatable. The book is definitely character driven with so many story lines to enjoy. Anaya's friends, Sophie and Catie, are your typical homegirls with their typical drama about dating, relationships, family dysfunction and character flaws. Her sister is a riot! Besides her flaws, I think she was my favorite character in the book. The only thing I didn't like was not knowing the back story of her relationships with the two men. This may have been talked about in the first book in the series. Nonetheless, with limited info, it was fairly easy to grasp a basic concept of their history. This book explores friend dynamics, work drama and how she navigates it to come out on top, romantic relationships and doing what's best for yourself as well as boundaries of respect and loyalty within in friendships. I definitely recommend this book!
