Woof. This was an unusual take on the story of Columbine, and it just felt icky to read. The chapters were long, which didn’t help. I will say I didn’t see the main plot twist coming until right up before it happened. I had to reread several times to make sure I understood it. I’m giving it 2.5 stars because the writing itself had parts that were lovely, and I can appreciate the craft that was used in jumping back and forth through time to lead up to the ending. If those things hadn’t been around to save this story, I would have rated it much lower. Woof.

I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this book, there was an interesting twist at the end and it definitely kept my attention. It fortunately didn't focus too much on the violence of the day until you get into the actual trial in the latter half of the book. It was more interesting than I was expecting.
