The beginning of this book was very promising and I loved how it was going. They are really cute together and I just love a friends to lovers romance. My issue is that once they got together, which was fairly early, almost the whole book was about sex. They obviously had other scenes but it felt like those were all a run up to them having sex. I just wanted them to have conversations and see them doing cute things.

Firstly Thank you to Lisa Suzanne for the ARC copy of Resisting The Running Back ❤️
I really enjoyed this book, Sophie and Millier were lovely characters and made me laugh alot! It was good being back in the world of the twins and seeing what Tanner and Cassie had been upto aswell.
I did find a couple of parts a bit lacking and found myself getting bored but it soon picked up again and wouldn't deter me from recommending this book or series to anyone. If you love a good romance with friends to lovers then this is a book for you 💜
Thank you again for the ARC copy, I really enjoyed the book and will definitely be reading more of Lisa's books 📚

Miller has been in love with his best friend Sophie and when she calls him, he leaves his own birthday party to run to help her. Sophie, feeling as if her world was falling apart, leans on Miller as she always had since he is the only one that has always been there, no questions asked. Sophie is a schoolteacher whose ex-boyfriend as a form of revenge for the breakup posts on her school chat about her side job as a romance writer to her high school students and with help of her BFF she moves and begins to focus full time on her dream. Sad this is the last of the Nash brother series, but it was another great story and can’t wait for the next series.

Another great book by Lisa Suzanne.
Miller and Sophie’s story is heartfelt, sexy, and fun. I enjoyed hearing their love story.
Friends for years but never making a move and it just was never the right time. Until now. Miller is a reliable and great friend to Sophie who has had a thing for her since they were younger. Sophie never thought about Miller that way but now that he has come to her aid she is starting to realize maybe he is the one she’s needed all these years.
This was a great read and a fabulous conclusion to this series.

Resisting the Running Back by Lisa Suzanne is a deeply satisfying and emotionally charged finale to The Nash Brothers series. A steamy blend of fake relationship, best friends-to-lovers, and sports romance tropes, this novel wraps up the series with tenderness, humour, and heart-fluttering intensity.
The story centres on a high school teacher whose life is suddenly turned upside down when her vengeful ex-boyfriend exposes her secret pen name as a romance author. Facing public humiliation and the loss of her teaching career, she turns to her childhood best friend, Miller Banks—a star professional footballer—for support. Miller doesn't hesitate. He leaves his own birthday bash in Las Vegas to stand by her, offering both emotional refuge and a place to regroup in sunny San Diego.
Their reunion is comforting, familiar, and full of banter. But things take a complicated turn when a series of impulsive lies—first to her mother and then to her ex—force them into a fake relationship turned public engagement. As they pretend to be a couple in the media spotlight, the chemistry between them becomes harder to ignore, and the emotional stakes begin to soar.
Lisa Suzanne handles this transition from friendship to romance with nuance and warmth. The dynamic between the main characters is laced with unspoken affection, playful tension, and a slowly simmering desire that feels utterly authentic. Miller, in particular, shines as a leading man—steadfast, protective, and quietly pining in a way that will melt hearts. His support is never conditional, and his patience as Sophie navigates her feelings adds depth to his character.
The book is a love letter to second chances—not just in romance, but in life. It explores how devastation can sometimes clear the way for reinvention, and how true partnership often begins with friendship. The emotional moments are balanced beautifully with flirty, passionate scenes that are steamy without being gratuitous.
As the final book in The Nash Brothers series, Resisting the Running Back delivers a well-earned happily ever after. Longtime fans will appreciate the cameos and resolutions, while new readers can enjoy it as a stand-alone without confusion.
Ultimately, Lisa Suzanne offers a heartfelt, sexy, and uplifting conclusion to a beloved series. It’s a story of loyalty, timing, and the courage to blur the line between friendship and forever love.
