I really wanted to like this book, and at times I almost enjoyed reading it. However, I routinely forget this book was titled and supposedly about Iberia and I suspect the author did too. It almost seems as if large portions of this book would have remained the same had the location been the English Midlands or the coast of Eastern Australia. It was more about cycling and the author’s stream of consciousness (and I say this is a lowly pedestrian rather than a demonic driver).

Some of his blunt political opinions, while rarely specific to Iberia, were at the least refreshing.

A bit pretentious for me. Too much on his thoughts and not enough about the journey. Still, I started so I finished......
