This was a good conclusion to the original story. Will, Horace, Evelyn, and Alyssa have fully grown up and are really making a difference in their world. Glad to see the WEDDING!!!! finally happening at the end. Looking forward to reading the short stories.

This is another great book in a great series. The characters are all three-dimensional, and interesting to read about. I also love how Will and Halt’s relationship was shown. It’s very refreshing to see younger characters that have older role models they can respect and adults who trust the younger characters, and for good reason. Flanagan likes to base his fictional countries off real countries and races, which is very interesting. I also love the tactics used in the series. Instead of using the normal, fantasy battle tactics where two armies stand in rows and charge, the author uses realistic tactics that make the reader think.
I highly recommend this series for both male and female readers.

Chugging through to the end of this series...still annoyed by the unoriginal, thin disguise of existing cultures and countries...but okay, the romance is kind of cute now.
