I enjoyed the information the author provided. Through I felt lost most of the time, but it could have been cause I did the audio version or I couldn't keep focused. So it felt harder to keep track of the explorers at times. I enjoyed the ended hearing about all the explorers that explored for the Fawcett.

This sounded like a book that would be right up my alley, but I just was never able to get into it. I think that the main problem was that this would have been a great story if something truly interesting happened to Grann on his journey. If that was the case, then his story would be the backbone of the book and all of the other interesting historic stories would be mixed in as flavoring to an already juicy mix. However, Grann's story is more mundane and it brings down the more fascinating stories held within.

Did not grab hold of me like his other works. I think it was going to be more about the author's adventures in the Amazon and I prefer historical reads versus the author's experiences.
