This definitely wasn't the best Quinn book that I've read. It all felt a bit a forced. Robert came across as shallow at the start and pushy throught while Victoria was whiny and annoying. It all dragged on for too long really.

I really enjoyed Everything and the Moon by Julia Quinn. It was set in one of my favourite eras of history and I liked that it was true to the era, with the exception of the fact that it included the spicy scenes!
I thought the characters were interesting and well written but I was annoyed at themiscommunication trope that went through the first part of the book and also Robert's arrogance and assumption that he could get everything he wanted, even if that was the way of the nobility back then .
The plot didn't go where I expected to which was nice, although I did anticipate the endingclearly it was going to be a happily ever after but I was very happy it ended this way and all the loose ends got neatly tied up too.
I'm looking forward to finding and reading/listening to more of Julia Quinn's work.

Nope.
Nope nope nope. Abusive, manipulative behavior ≠ love. I was so disappointed because I started out really enjoying these characters but it devolved quickly. The height of suspense of this book hangs on stalking, controlling behavior in the name of “love,” degrading the female lead for not thinking clearly when aroused, and then sickly sweetness afterward. Not Quinn’s best work.

I usually like Julia Quinn for a light read with humor and some witty dialogue. This book had none of that. It was terrible and not up to her normal standards.
** don’t mind me reviewing my ratings from 1 year ago ****
Robert & Victoria were meant to be but the stacks were against them from the beginning.
Miscommunication & jumping to conclusions made them lose 7 years of happiness.
They both have their flaws and qualities and that’s what makes them meant to be!
It’s not normally what Julia Quinn writes but I absolutely devoured it. She portrayed how 7 years of resentment doesn’t go away in just a week or a month and we really felt Victoria’s resentment. I loved this book
