Probably a 3.5. I think the plot for this one has been to coolest in the series so far.

Took me awhile to get into this one. Once I got 1/3 of the way in, I really liked it. Predictable but still a good read.

Was very good. Magnificent. A perfect story. It was fast oaced, (which I love), there was action, there was romance, it was easy, it was fun, I don’t know who would give this book a bad rating. Javan was a perfect hero, Sadja was the perfect damsel, except she wasn’t in distress, she was a badass fighter elf with POWERS!! Anyways, read this now thank youuuu
Characters: A,
plot: A+,
romance: A
edge of my seat-ness: A+++

Loved this third book in the Ravenspire series. I listened to the audiobook version and loved the narrator. This is a creative retelling of the Prince and the Pauper. Javan is the prince who has been sent away to school by his father the king. He has been there for 10 years and has worked hard to become the best in his class. When he is about to travel home to take up his rightful position in the kingdom, he is attacked and left for dead. An impostor takes his place and though Javan survives, he ends up in prison. There he must fight a variety of beasts and other prisoners in a tournament to win the chance to speak to the king. Sadja is the warden's slave, but her power is used to keep the prisoners in check. Javan decides that the only way to survive the prison is to enlist Sadja's help. Sadja has secrets of her own and Javan must decide how far he is willing to go to fight for his rightful position.
I loved Javan! He is the epitome of a true hero and I so appreciate this author's portrayal of a strong, intelligent male character. It was also nice to read about a truly good hero who has morals and valor and who isn't willing to compromise his principles for power. I want my son to read this when he is older. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
