3.5 stars - this was cute but made for a younger audience. Nice quick read

it wasn’t horrible. v fast read, so that’s always a plus. however, it did get a little questionable in regards to whether or not magic existed in this universe. i enjoyed it but it wasn’t my favorite. super cliché though so beware

lighthearted relaxing medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

First of all the writing was low-key giving wattpad, and I personally didn't like any of the parts that didn't have Charlie involed. I just hated that she didn't end up with Charlie. Whenever Jacob was talking I just got the ick.....idk 😭

Just like other reviews, I loved the immense Christmas setting and spirit the MC brings but the lack of drama is really disappointing. As "heart fluttering" as the romance became, I have so many questions unanswered throughout the book which still leaves me in a pool of confusion due to some scenes being left out halfway.

A fluffy, sweet, and holiday ‘magic’-filled YA book perfect for quick, festive read. The characters were sweet. I secretly love reading books where the High School students act like already-adults…working in bookstores, volunteer gift-wrapping, going for coffee, baking for cookie exchanges, etc (and are just generally more put together than the average human). It’s cute. I adored how each chapter title was a Christmas song because I’m a holiday song nut! I don’t want to give away any spoilers so all I’ll add to finish is this book had a nice Christmas classic twist.

This was a super quick read. I am not sure what I was looking for but I didn't get it with this book. Maybe I am not ready for cheesy dialog and an ending that felt out of left field. I thank this book though for getting me through Election day. It has been a long time since I read an entire book in one day.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. It was not bad just simplistic.
