"You probably went through grade school, high school and college without anyone discussing the nature of consciousness."

This and a multitude of other well intentioned but false assumptions are posited by this author whose authorial voice is remeniscent of Woody Allen and Holden Caulfield.

DID NOT FINISH

I think I've already read a few books like this and this one didn't feel like it was adding anything new or inspiring beyond what I've already heard

I liked this book a lot! It had a lot of beautiful, helpful advice for managing the voice in your head and negative self talk. My main issue with it is that thought it was a little out of place how it got kind of preachy and religious at the end considering the book didn't start that way, but it was mainly just one chapter that was like that. It also seemed as though the author began to get a bit repetitive at the end as well, as though he was starting to run out of content. Overall though, I really loved this book and I practice a lot of the techniques and tools they discuss daily. It's a pleasant, quick read with a lot of valuable information and advice. I think this is especially a very beneficial read for anyone dealing with anxiety.
