I really wanted to love this and it just didn't come together for me.

I think this was too short to really build any tension, but I enjoyed it

Roller derby, at its best, has a great deal to do with teamwork, self-confidence, friendship, and a fierce, inclusive sisterhood. The team in this book does it well, not excluding based on orientation or biology. The romance gets a little hung up at one point, repeating the same mistake, but there's plenty of chrmistry--and side friendships that are well worth it.

I kind of hated the romance plot (for personal reasons), which is sad because I’ve wanted nothing more than to find a good cis/trans lesbian romance! But I didn’t like the instalove and the secrecy. I liked Tina as a character, though, and I liked the derby stuff. It’s making me consider enrolling in my local boot camp .

Delightful, low-angst summer Romance that I definitely rec people read by the pool - or whenever they need to be magically transported there. North does an amazing job creating a real sense of place and community in a relatively short read. The main character, Tina, is really wonderful and relatable and even if I wasn't as into her love interest as she was, that's okay. Tina and I totally agree on how awesome roller derby is.

Fun, short read. The roller derby parts were especially fun and interesting.
