I would highly recommend this book to young students (5th grade through high school), new believers, or anyone who wants a refresher in basic systematic theology. This is not Wayne Grudem's "Systematic Theology", nor is it trying to be. Challies clearly and concisely communicates the basis of Christian theology. I enjoyed it as a source book for talking to my junior high aged kiddos and also as a nice gut check for myself.

I appreciated the visual appeal and construction of the book but the value of this book was in the written portion, not the visual, for me. The info-graphics were attractive but only okay in their content. Many would not have communicated anything to me without the related text.

That said, in using this with my kids, the visuals were a great additional connector. The current generation of students tend to be very visual learners and I think the info-graphics are good at supplementing a conversation and holding their interest in a topic.

It was okay. I enjoyed the reading, but although the graphics looked nice and consistent, I didn't feel most of them really added anything. Honestly I was hoping for something more graphics-based and was interested to see how they would achieve that. As it is, a decent textbook for new Christians or a light refresher.

Solid teaching, but just not as in-depth as I was wanting. Also, the graphics were more of a pretty design than an infographic.

This book presents some of the basic principles of learning to follow Jesus, which makes it a good resource for discipleship and ministry opportunities. While some chapters were repetitive and read like an academic textbook, it's well-organized and grounded in Scripture. I think it'd be most useful in the context of group conversation and read alongside other resources to disciple new Christians and for "older" Christians to remind each other of the gospel's true foundation.

Quite basic, yet clear in the illustration of the core concepts.
