I loved this book. This was my first Terry Pratchett that I finished (I tried the crumbling castle audio but never finished). I loved the story and the characters and I might have to read the whole darn discworld series someday. The humor was delightful and the audiobook was awesome. I really liked this book and they style of writing as well as the inner monologue of Tiffany, the chalk witch, as she told little stories to herself and with her first, second, and third sight.

when I was a kid my mom read this book to me as a bedtime story, broken up over the course of about 2 weeks. I was afraid that revisiting it as an adult would kill some of the whimsy, but Tiffany Aching is still a delightful narrator and Terry Pratchett is still an author in a league all his own. His take on witches is nothing short of wonderful, rooted so completely in love and compassion and doing for others as they cannot do themselves. it's beautiful

Sometimes you just need a dash of Pratchett. It's an odd read twenty years on when so much subversion of fairy tales has become so standard as to be itself subverted, but most of the wit holds up, and there's enough bite to enjoy.
