"The Yellow Wallpaper" can be considered one of the defining works of feminist literature. It displays woman's role in both marriage and society. To write in this manner about a woman’s health, mental or physical, was considered a radical act at the time of writing. Moreover, a mere discussion about the lives of women was considered at best, frivolous, and at worst dangerous.

Terrifically written!! Her madness and descent becoming clearer and clearer after each page. Its very apparent in this story that she is a victim. A victim of her stupid and controlling husband. He should have done what she asked. If he loved her as he claimed he did, and as she thought he must have - he should have moved her to another room. He should've left the house when she asked. He should've re papered the room when she insisted. Leave it to a man to ruin a woman.

I tend to re-read this every so often. I feel like I reference this book a lot, and not many people understand it? It’s a good short story if you’re looking for a classic that is pretty to read (if you understand the context, of course).
