A hard one to digest, seeing a perfectly fine woman going through a hard time that is the puerperium, being looked at and treated as a hysterical 'crazy' woman was tough.

I loved this book. I can’t believe it took me so long to read this classic. I know a lot of people encountered this book at school but it seems like my school did an entirely different set of books than everyone else. I feel like this book captured mental illness extremely well and I was captivated by the descriptions in this book. I would definitely recommend this.
