Better than Priory and a great immersive book! It took a while to get going but really enjoyed it once it started moving! A lot of characters and names and locations which were difficult to keep track of though. Also disappointed by some of the major scenes like when Wulf and Tunva finally meet but Samantha Shannon just kinda of fades to black or doesn’t talk about it. I wish those scenes were more built out but it was almost 900 pages so I guess it didn’t need to be any longer.

skończyłam i mam w głowie milion myśli, ale zero właściwych słów, żeby opisać to dzieło sztuki. cieszę się, że znów mogłam wejść w ten świat, bo na parę dni oderwało mnie to od życia i myślami byłam tylko przy dumai, glorian, tunuvie i wulfie. mogłabym napisać dużo, ale to i tak będzie niewystarczające; dzień zostanie ze mną na długo, na zawsze, i ciągle będę do niego wracać. nigdy bym nie pomyślała, że tak potężna książka to wciąż będzie za mało, a jednak.

Man this book had everything: lesbian warriors with fire powers, gay rich barrons, bisexual knights, trans masc alchemists, non-binary council members, queer princesses, aroace queens!
No but seriously, I really enjoyed this book! It's been a while since I read Priory, but I feel like I liked this one more. I loved all the characters. I thought each and every one had compelling and rich stories with complex things they were battling while also dealing with like the terrible monsters from the dreamouth or whatever it was called.
I also really enjoyed the fact that Glorian was aroace and yet her fate was always to be married and to birth an heir because all society expects from her is to keep the Berethnet line going.
Anyways would recommend!
