I'm pretending I did not see a forced romance happen.

Good second installment of the House of El series, but I would have liked to see more plot progression.

Finished this at the library while waiting for Emily, lol. Glad I grabbed #3, the final of this trilogy, to take home. A solid middle story, but nothing groundbreaking.

Even though you know how it's going to end, and even though there's lots of new shows out about Krypton, the idea that it's all genetically locked in, and that people are so altered that to ME they're not really people, they don't really have free will... that Krypton isn't so much a Utopia as a Dystopia, and that Zod was working with Jor El and Lara... I really enjoy this take. While it's been done in various ways, I always find it interesting.

And rather than track the House of El directly, we have two other heroes to watch whose lives intertwine, and it will be painful to watch them go. I look forward to the third and final installment and I'm glad to be along for this ride.

The adventure continues right where we left off - Zahn and Sera have stolen a piece of technology from the house of El, but the can't figure out how to unlock more than its surface-level recordings to what, Sera assumes, is more information on the genetic manipulation Lara did to her. Later, Zahn and his classmates are analyzing the damage from an earthquake to a vital system. Zahn proposes rerouting the system to share the resources with the lower caste, and he's punished instead of applauded. Elsewhere, Sera is likewise reprimanded for proposing a new strategy to fighting deadly pests in the upper atmosphere of the planet. Zahn gives the group of dissenters, Midnight, the idea to go after the structure his classmates were just working to fix, but they are planning to take the attack too far, and he fears how many people might be in danger.
