it was quite good i really liked the short stories !
Classic SF stories. Some are dates, but there's also Flower for Algernon, Cordwainer Smith, and some other good stuff. I've read most of them before.
The only reason that it took me a year to read this is that we read the first half for our SFF book club last year, and then finished it off this year.

Hier geht es um die großen Themen der Science Fiction in einer Umsetzung, die fern ab von 0815 ist. Egal ob Dystopie, künstliche Intelligenz oder Zeitreise, es ist nie die Standartgeschichte die man erwarten würde und so bleiben die Geschichten heut noch frisch oder zumindest nicht klischeehaft.
Viele der Geschichten sind echte Highlights und auch bei denen, die es für mich nicht waren, verstehe ich ihren Wert irgendwie. Durch die vielen bekannten Autoren kann man sich einen Überblick über klassische Science Fiction schaffen, aber auch für Leser die schon den ein oder anderen alten Schinken gelesen haben ist es unglaublich interessant.
Für mich war es genau, was ich mir unter dem Titel vorgestellt und erhofft habe.

Starting in 1966, the Science Fiction Writers of America began presenting annual Nebula Awards for the best novels and short stories. A few years later, they decided to go back and do a retrospective on the best stories published before '66. This is that collection, and it is damn good. All the greats are represented (Asimov, Bradbury, Clarke... Zelazny), along with stories and authors that have been mostly forgotten. The quality is universally high, and while some of the stories are dated--particularly the gender politics--you can watch the evolution of the genre in terms of theme, literary merit, and intellectual complexity from year to year. This is one of my new favorite anthologies, and I've read a lot of Golden Age scifi.

Classic Sci-Fi doesn't care (for the most part) about creating interesting characters, so this was a struggle for me in some of the stories. However, the concepts proposed in these stories were all very interesting. Rather than summarize my feelings on each story, which would take too long, here is a list of some of my favorite stories from this anthology*:
