Rain Morgan think her life is going pretty good but she constantly has issues with her older sister Daria. One night she goes to Red's and meets a man out in the parking lot who intrigues her but she knows he could break her heart.
James Sexton owns Red's and a lot of other properties in town. He is known as a womanizer along with his best friends, Lex and Ed.
James guards his heart tightly and as Rain begins to break down his walls will he let her in or find a way to break her heart?
This was an interesting book about love and betrayal.
I really liked Rain with all of her innocence at the beginning and then almost a naive sense of what was going to happen with James. Rain truly fell in love with James but couldn't do what she needed to in order to keep him with her. At the same time she had to deal with her evil sister Daria who seemed to have some jealousy when it comes to Rain but it is unclear why.
I definitely had a lot of mixed feelings when it came to James as he had a hardened heart for sure and freally didn't want to let Rain get to close to him. Yet he didn't want to let her go either and it almost became a bit of a cat and mouse game between the two of them. James also had a cruel side that allowed Rain to get hurt even though he warned her that she would never "have" him.
I was super mad at James at the end of the book and I am really looking forward to the next book and seeing what Rain is able to make of herself.

I loved this book and yet hated it at the same time. I absolutely love love love Rain and Eve. They are great, a little naive, but great all the same. Getting to know both characters and watching them grow a bit throughout the book was hilarious and entertaining. And James, Lex, and Ed are hot as hell! But I felt the book wasn't going anywhere. Well, it finally went somewhere at the end. I absolutely despised Daria. She's a fucking bitch for no fucking reason. I really hope that she gets what's coming to her. And I really didn't like Rains parents either. They were just awful and so stupid. They didn't seem to give a crap about Rain or Daria. Yet they wanted to be judgy when she was seeing James. Hopefully something happens with them or Daria in the next book

Let me start by saying that this overall was a pretty good book. If you can power through the juvenile overtones of the MC who is so very young and the choppy speech patterns. It didn’t really leave me wanting more but James is hot but the MC is just a little to “young” and naïve for me.
As much as I love Rain and James, I have to say I am disappointed with this book. There is obvious chemistry that Shayne does a great job bringing out. However, I felt that it was too fast. One minute Rain has no interest in being with a man and then boom she’s ready to give it all up to James after meeting him one time. There was no build up.
Once I got past this, I enjoyed the story and couldn’t wait for more. And then the end came. How dare he get pissed at her for wanting to move to New York when before she even told him, he cheats on her!? He blames her and says she’s just like every woman when he clearly isn’t any better. I wanted to jump through the pages and strangle him! He sets this double standard and it isn’t fair.
Having said this, I think the story has potential and I am looking forward to finishing the series. As I said in the beginning, I just wish there was more of a falling for Rain and not an immediate “get in my pants” reaction.

The beginning of Rain and James' story.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Hot guy + young, inexperienced girl with a wild streak= super hot story! I like that even though Rain was fairly innocent, she still had some wild in her which made her a fun character. James is your typical bad boy, never settling down guy, but I still loved him and want more. Daria is the absolute worst, can not stand her. I wish Rain would kick her ass already. I got through this all in one sitting and I'm excited to read book 2.
