I’m hooked! I love twisting up old stories and making them new. I love Dorothy living long enough to become the villain and a new girl from Kansas has to set things right. It’s still not clear who is on whose side and it’s gearing up to be a huge showdown. I can’t wait!
Moderate: Bullying, Violence, Animal cruelty, Abandonment, Addiction, Blood, Toxic relationship, Toxic friendship, Murder, Injury/Injury detail, Body horror, Body shaming, Death, and Animal death

I think if I read Dorothy Must Die in middle school, I would’ve enjoyed it more than I did as an adult. The concept of Dorothy Gale being a tyrannical dictator is rather interesting, but I didn’t care for the world-building and “new” systems in Oz. Nevertheless, the plot was gripping enough and during the middle and end I was invested in the action.
I might continue on with the series, but I haven’t officially decided yet.
