The author writes a story of an author trying to write a story.
A little bit of inception-ness, making it seem like an autobiography....but it's fiction.
The character in the book makes the choice to end a relationship and makes steps to be more free. She also harbors trauma surrounding the loss of family members and chronic nightmares.
Instead of finding comfort in insecure relationships, she tries to repair the relationship with family members.

Such a thought book about grief and all it's forms; loss of a parent, loss of love, loss of knowing your own emotions. A lesson in letting yourself feel in order to understand or except why things happened in the way they did

I have not cried so much and so hard while reading a book in a while. This book is masterfully woven together. It’s a gorgeously written exploration of grief and how it manifests. There’s elements of horror that while tame still make your heart race a little. What a beautiful read!

I think Hazel Hayes’ writing is so beautiful. The way she talks about things, describes things, it feels as if it’s her real life she’s writing about. That me, as the reader, is a friend that she’s telling her life story to. I will reading anything and everything Hazel writes.
