started out slow with the world building. picked up midway. entertaining read. i wish lila was more fleshed out as a character. i liked kell. overall it felt like a straight forward read, which i wanted at the moment. it would be cool if book 2 was more complex now that the world has been established.

Quite good, I may even have to upgrade this to a five upon further reflection.

This book really picked up in the second half. The dynamic between Kell and Lila was, well, dynamic. The first half of the book took me 4 days to read, the second--only two. It finished strong, something that I'm really starting to expect from the lovely Miss Schwab.

I'll definitely read the next one. In time I might even whip up a full review.

Wow! I loved this! The magic system the world building the dialogue just had me turning the page. So different from my usual but worth it! This book was written beautifully! Looking forward to book 2
