The illustrations were the best part. I wish the story had been as good. For a book about nature, light, and animals, it was surprisingly self-conscious and rigid, which are not the qualities I associate with the natural world.

Very very perfect for what it is—the three pages of “i could go” were very poignant and definitely made me wonder about the word count. A very sweet book
