Lighthearted read. It's cute.

Won the Newberry for a reason, such a beautiful book I loved every second of it

There are a few things about this book that didn’t work for me, but it’s well written and entertaining, and definitely better than the last two Newbery winners.

Dave Eggers has crafted a new modern classic in children's literature. Beautifully written and designed with stunning illustrations, The Eyes and the Impossible is told from the point of view of a stray dog who lives and runs in a vast national forest. Anyone who has spent time with a kind, caring and energetic dog will really appreciate the achingly authentic voice of this lovable protagonist. A rare and special piece of work.

Technically a 4.5.
