Declan is one of the Cross brothers, a crime family from the Merciless world. This is my first introduction to the world, but boy will I be reading all of them immediately. Declan owns The Club, a place that allows for all sorts of deviance and deals. Gorgeous women work there, including the new-hire, the stunning Braelynn. Braelynn has a tough past, which includes an abusive boyfriend, and now faces financial struggles as she embarks on her own. Another piece of her past, Declan Cross, turns out to be The Club owner, and her new boss. They soon enter a dom/sub relationship, and their relationship becomes full of steamy, delightful BDSM.
There's a catch, though. An informant - or two - are plaguing the Cross brothers' business. Braelynn unknowingly is swept up into this, a situation full of danger.
This book was hot hot hot. The spice is high quality, and if you like the dark and dirty stuff, you will love Declan. Please check trigger warnings, both for BDSM content and discussion of past abuse. This story is all about reclaiming pain and turning it into pleasure - which I LOVE. The writing style is quick and effortless; I ate up this story and was shocked when it was over so fast. The cliffhanger was, let's just say, brutal. Willow, please, we need the second book ASAP. I am desperately in love with every book boyfriend you put in front of me, and I might be slightly more addicted to Declan.
The only thing that was lacking for me was the elaboration of some plot points. Scarlet and Travis weren't discussed/seen enough for me, but perhaps that is intentional. Otherwise, the characters we did get to know deeply were amazing, especially Braelynn. I'm crossing my fingers for that girl.

I have been waiting for Declan Cross' story ever since I stepped foot into the Merciless World... The anticipation was real... And OMG did Willow ever deliver! When a book is as highly anticipated as this one, the pressure is huge to deliver... well worry not! Declan is as ruthless as you want him to be and as deliciously kinky as you need him to be! It's dark, it's gritty and oh so sexy!!
Carter, Jase, Seth and Marcus who? Move over boys, the youngest Cross brother is here and he will make you forget about all the other ones you've met!
Braelynn is one lucky lady. Their love story is burning the heat of a thousand suns and that cliff hanger?! Never has a title been as prophetic as this one!
