We read a lot about couples falling in love, meet-cutes…
But what about couples staying in love?
This is something Nina Lane did beautifully with Professor West and his Beauty.
I truly adored visiting them again and I highly recommend the whole series to any romance reader. (Level of steam: high! Which is pretty perfect if you ask me.)
Seeing as I adored all the previous books in this series, it was a no-brainer decision to go on and read more about The Professor and his Beauty.
If you haven’t yet started on this beautiful tale by Nina Lane, I can’t stress you enough about adding it to your TBR, it’s one of my favorite couples to read about!
There is something to be said about a couple in love. It’s been so long since I’ve read about Dean and Liv but the memories of their love are still vivid in my mind. Thanks to Nina Lane‘s wonderful writing and exquisite story-telling.
The Spiral of Bliss series spanning over the years, tells the story of Olivia Winter and Dean West, Professor/Student romance trope, the best I’ve read to this day. The adoration this man has for his wife through the years is infinite and undying.

I won’t re-tell everything that happened since the first book, Liv and Dean are just simply at a point in their lives most couples have experienced. They finally gained stability, they’re married and have a child, Nicholas. Liv is a successful entrepreneur and Dean as invested in his career as a professor and historian as ever.
So what is this book about?
Adore is about everlasting love. We often read romance books about a couple falling in love and we certainly enjoy a nice Happy Ever After, but what about what’s happening next? Ever wondered about the heroes’ struggles to stay happy? To keep the flame burning?I like to think that the story doesn’t end with the “and they lived in love and happily ever after”. And that’s exactly what Nina Lane offers to her readers here.
Some could feel the story of Liv and Dean had been told and maybe another book was not necessary. But to me this book actually stands on its own, you could even read it as a standalone.
Nina Lane delivers here with great realism the struggles any couple with children encounters.
I could identify myself and relate to Liv’s attempts to find solutions for all her facets to meet ends. How to be more present for her kid, how to be a successful entrepreneur, how to find her place again as a wife… How to find the perfect balance between her role as a mother, and her role as a woman.

I truly loved this book! Loved witnessing Professor West‘s undying love for his Beauty, loved the sneak peek into their everyday life, loved that they were still so open to each other, loved that neither Liv or Dean was perfect, loved Liv’s attempts to seduce her husband but failing miserably because reasons…
And I absolutely adored Dean’s enduring love for Liv, his ways of reassuring her when she started doubting, the inventive ways he came up with to put both is and Liv’s intimacy back on tracks…

Adore was also a tasteful piece of erotica! And that’s exactly how I love my romance stories, sweet and steamy. And Dean‘s demonstration of both was definitely a bonus. The sex scenes were exquisitely written, and left me wanting MORE! I need to give a special mention to Dean‘s creativity and a special award to :
the Shaving Scene flash back…
The diverse role-plays…
I must say I’ve been eyeing my trench coat differently this past week and I’m still to satisfy my apple pie and cherry pie cravings…
Why not 5 stars? Despite my constant interest for Liv and Dean‘s marital life, I had troubles with Liv constant and tiring need to assert her independence. I’m all for equality between men and women, but her perpetual need to load herself with all these responsibilities annoyed the hell out of me. It was obvious she was trying too much, and it was even more obvious she was going to fail epically… I think this part of the book could have been lightened a little.
All in all, Adore was a successful read for me, it delivered a solid story about a married couple (a unicorn in romance), intense and passionate sex scenes and a hero to swoon over…

I knew everything we did together, every act in which we engaged, would serve to either strengthen our trust in each other or prove that it was warranted.

My love for my wife is powerfully intense and secure, bone-deep, the essential part of me. It’s the solid ground under my feet, a feeling as inevitable as a sunrise.
With Nicholas, my love’s is almost scary in its fierceness and layered with so many other emotions I can’t even define them all. Awe. Wonder. Fear. Amazement. Hope.
Everyday, every time I see him, the love surges anew, like a tidal wave submerging my heart.
Some could feel the story of Liv and Dean had been told and maybe another book was not necessary. But to me this book actually stands on its own, you could even read it as a standalone.

My head fills with the scent of him, urgency tightening through my entire body. I’d almost forgotten how uninhibited and sexy I could be with him, how good pure, undiluted lust could feel.

Look at me.
You look at me the whole time, beauty. I want to watch you when I push inside you, when you take my cock nice and deep. I want to see the expression in your eyes when I start to fuck you. I want to look into your eyes and know you’re feeling every goddamned inch of my cock filling you.
I want you breathless, overwhelmed, taken.
And I want to see you when you come, when you clench your sweet pussy around me so tight I can’t fucking hold back anymore.
I want to watch you when you feel me shoot deep inside you.
Look at me.

Always love when I get to read more about Liv and the Professor. This is one of those series that always guarantees a great read. Loved it!
“You’re the book I want to open. The story I want to read. The lesson I want to learn, the music I want to hear, the painting I want to study for eternity. If I know nothing else in life except the truth and heart of Olivia West, I’m the luckiest man alive.”

Professor West and his beauty.. ♥♥♥♥

Okay, I thought this series was over after Awaken. I totally loved Arrive (you can find it on NL's website, just subscribe for the newsletter) which is a small novella after Awaken that features Liv, Dean and a cute moment but when I saw Adore, I screamed! I've mentioned before how hard it is to find a couple themed book that starts with the couple instead of with them getting together. Liv and Dean were married from book one and with each book they worked for their marriage and any issues they had, including some pretty awful life changing events.
Reading about these two is always a delight, speaking to the fans of the series, you know what you'll get with this book, more Professor Dean but on a whole other level - the man is a hot shot! - and more Liv being... Liv. I did find her a bit tiring at times. won't lie, but it didn't affect the story. Also, smoking hot moments - or trying to be moments, you'll see - and adorable Daddy Dean moments. I mean... swoon!
To those that are not yet familiar with the series, you need this in your life. Beautifully written stories with each one being better than the previous one, how is that even possible, and it truly is a memorable series.
After the birth of their son, Liv and Dean are kind of struggling to find a balance between the world and their bubble; Dean is super busy and Liv is keeping herself busy by multitasking to the max. After reading the first three, you do get the feeling that they can't share one another with the world aka family and job. But they manage and boy this story left me wanting more of them! Mad love for this series!
Bonus, Archer! ♥

I love Nina Lane's writing. I have loved every book from this series, including this one. Unfortunately... I couldn't give this one 5 stars, for one simple reason: Olivia's selfishness. Oh. My. Gosh! I couldn't get over it. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was about her. How she felt, what she wanted, what she needed, at her convenience, etc. It made me feel extremely sympathetic to my baby Dean (who I loved sooooooo much more after reading this book, for obvious reasons).
Olivia had a hard time juggling her marriage, her child, her career, and her extra activities. But she refused to ask for help or look to Dean for ANYTHING!! And she acted like she was the only woman to find herself in these circumstances.
I loved how Dean dealt with it all. It was incredibly realistic and everything about Dean reaffirmed his standing as one of my favourite characters of all time! I'm must glad that Liv smartened up in the end. Even if she had to fall in order to get wise, at least she figured out a great compromise. I needed Dean to be considered too.
And just when, once again. I think that I can leave this couple in their HEA, the author gives me more. I'm off to read [b:Always|29006395|Always (Spiral of Bliss, #5)|Nina Lane|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1466053521s/29006395.jpg|49247412].

I can't wait for Book 5. This story is so beautiful! I know I better get a sequel to Break the Sky too cause I loved that book as well! I want to read more about Archer and Kelsey.
My heart grows in size whenever I read one of Nina Lane’s books. Dean and Liv can be endless. They have so much to give and I keep on recieving with open arms. These two are not perfect but they try, really hard to be good for each other and their son. I am still craving more of them.
“My travel journey has been an inward one, mapping out all the rivers and valleys of my soul, finding my way, charting new territory toward a place that I could call home.”
Liv had a lot of bumps along the road in this one. It was not easy for her. She developed and grew until she became a control freak. It was not appealing at all. She started losing her way and I hated that for her. But, she got back on track fast and I was surprised when she threw a surprise along our way and helped Dean make his dream come true. Liv is one beautiful woman and a great mother.
“But what do you do when the woman you love doesn’t want everything?” Archer asks.
“You wait.”
“Wait?”
“Until she’s ready.”
“Well, how do you know how long that’ll be?”
“You don’t, man,” I say. “But you wait anyway. You wait for as long as it takes because you know there’s no other choice.”
Dean is just amazing. This man proves his love more and more everyday and across every book. I loved that he was keen on improving his relationship with Archer. This one of the main points I really cared about. His relationship with Liv always came first and this was what I admired about Dean. He did effortlessly. He was always in control and he was doing it right. This man proved to be a devoted husband and an awesome father.
“You came back.”
“I will always come back to you.”
Liv and Dean’s relationship grows as the books go on, with each book I definitely feel their love and struggles. I love their relationship. Maybe I envy it a little bit.
No matter what happens, Liv and Dean adore each other more than anything else.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m the type of reader who, when she closes the book on a series, she considers it THE END. Don’t know why I just referred myself in the 3rd person there. ANYWAY. I’m generally okay with a favorite series ending. So when I had turned the last page on Awaken, I was completely satisfied. I had been looking forward to Archer and Kelsey’s romance, but when it came to Dean and Liv West’s story, the book was closed. And I thought I would never get another book with them as the main focus, except in the form of a wonderful treat of the novella, Arrive (which I’ve read and LOVED). So it came as a surprise to me when I heard about Adore, and I had a *little bit* of apprehension toward it because of my preference for series to not add another book if it seems it's completed already. But I knew I wouldn’t NOT be able to read it. And I also knew I would love it!
Wariness be damned, if Nina Lane wants to write more books featuring Liv and Dean (or Kelsey and Archer I’M JUST SAYING), I’ll forever be open to them. I love this couple SO MUCH. They’re still one of my all-time favorite fictional OTPs. And it’s kinda stunning to me that they are because I’m not a big Adult reader in general because I can’t relate very well, and I don’t get as intense about characters and their relationships as I do in YA and NA. But when it comes to Liv and Dean, apparently none of THAT matters. And I’ve always loved Nina’s writing, so it didn’t really come as a surprise that I would find this an enjoyable read. Though it’s focused ON a romance, on just the one couple, the books are never boring. They just feel so REAL. They’re filled with real problems, real emotions, and real characters who love each other so much that their marriage is seriously #goals.
I adore (ha) Liv and Dean both. Liv is such a wonderful person, even though she grew up in an environment that wasn’t stable or warm. She is kind, and compassionate, and she loves fiercely. And she is a GREAT mother, even though she doesn’t always feel like one. Even though she makes mistakes and still wants to be selfish sometimes, it doesn’t make her bad or uncaring. And I LOVE that she’s gone after her dreams, and that she’s so willing to chase after new ones even when she’s terrified of the unknown. But she’s not alone. She’s got Professor Marvel, aka Dean West. He is STILL one of my top book boyfriends. He is protective, and attentive, and he loves his wife and kid with all his heart. He doesn’t always know how to deal with the new changes, but he doesn’t back down from a challenge. And he always makes sure to include Liv and Nicholas in every decision. Ugh, he just makes me melt. Especially when he calls her beauty. I love him. <3
I loved that this focused on what happened after Nicholas was born. The addition of the baby changed a lot for the two of them, and they had to reset priorities and learn that they just can't do it all. Liv and Dean had to figure out how to make room while also not compromise on doing what they wanted and following their dreams. I loved that, through everything, Dean and Liv are there for each other. They communicate, and work together to solve problems as they come up. And through it all, the two of them never lose their intimacy for the other, even when their sexytimes get pushed to the backburner. Though they struggle with the new changes, and they fight sometimes, their love for each other never diminishes. It’s so awesome to see such a healthy, loving couple in fiction; two people who found their soulmate in each other, and who always work together in everything, and who make you really believe in happy-ever-after.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I’d wanted another book in this series. BUT APPARENTLY I DID! I loved this. I loved that we got more of Liv and Dean, and a storyline that focused more on them as parents than just them as a couple. Not only that, but we got to see more of Kelsey and Archer, whom I love. Kelsey is fierce and sassy and I love that she doesn’t back down from anything, and that Archer just totally understands and gets her, even when he wants something different. And Archer is just as swoonworthy as his older brother. ;) This book was richly detailed, and it made me feel like I was transported to Mirror Lake. Also, the ending was wonderful! “Our adventure continues…” I see there is another book coming out in the series, and I’m actually very excited! I have truly missed these characters, and hell if I don’t want more of Professor Marvel and his Beauty.
