I always say, "I don't read romance." ... And then I continue to read romance.... and then I continue to like it.

I picked up The Deal because it was free on Kindle Unlimited, and I kept seeing it everywhere. Going into this, I thought it was just going to be a silly, goofy romance that was written similiarily to a WattPad RPF of an NHL team. I was pleasantly surprised that this book ended up being so much more.

Yes, it does fall into the cliches romances tend to. Yes, it's a little cringey, but it is heartfelt and enjoyable. The dynamics between Garrett and Hannah are enjoyable. I enjoy seeing how they both grow together in both their friendship and their inevitable relationship. Their banter was refreshing and fun. I would recommend this for someone who is looking for a sports (hockey) romance with some sex scenes.

I read this book for my community Book Club. Poorly written College “romance” (aka raunch), with a completely predictable storyline and ending is really not my jam. I finished it because I want to meet more neighbors and be able to speak about it because I read it. If you want a very quick and easy, predictable read, with lots of sex and language, then this book is for you. 🤣 It definitely wasn’t for me. I gave the book 2 ⭐️ because I thought they handled a few difficult topics (rape and domestic violence) well.

I have new obsession with hockey romance! How have I only recently discovered the joy of hockey romance?! I love hockey, I love romance, & ofcourse I love books, so why have I only recently started reading hockey romance books?
I loved this book!!! It brought together the joys and confusion of finding love, the fun of hockey, with the trauma of the past, & the healing journey  to move on. The author wonderfully mixed all these aspects together, in such an incredible way!
And Hannah & Garret have such an amazing story; both healing from their own separate traumas, but coming together to support eachother in their journeys! They are #relationshipgoals 💜💜💜

In love with all the main characters in this book, got a little slow towards the end but picked right back up again. Not sure about the miscommunication/third part breakup trope but I suppose the climax was needed. Garret Graham I love you.
