The writing is still quite stilted and dialogue seems forced in places.
Plot/Concept is interesting enough to keep me going, though I wonder if Elyon is like Aslan.

Second entry in the trilogy which like all good trilogies contains five books is another fair of forgettable fantasy reads, it has some good moments but they are fairly spaced out between some pretty ordinary stuff as well.

I loved the first one, but this was a disappointing sequel that only served to stage book 3.

I read this book right after the first one, and I loved it. I read this when I was in elementary school, but I can still say to this day that this is one of my childhood favorites!

I always feel so betrayed when a children's fantasy series turns out to be Christian fiction. The allegory was mild in the first one, but gets stronger here. I don't know if I'll finish the series or not. Just like Narnia, I don't know how much of it I can stand.
