It's a decent read overall. If you don't give into the hype on social media, it's a nice modern retelling of Hades and Persephone. I love the constant mentions of consent throughout the book's spicier scenes, the erotic scenes are about a 3/3.5 out of 5. The issue I have with this book is the quickness of the smut. I wished that it was built up more in the dark romance department.

this book/author was recommended to me by a B&N worker! and it’s the best recommendation i’ve received in a while, i really enjoyed reading this book & i hope others enjoy it as well. although it might not exceed the hype some may have started reading it for, it met my expectations & exceeded them by the end of the book.

Wow... just wow. My favorite retelling of Hades & Persephone.  I cannot wait to continue the series.

I have always loved the story of Hades and Persephone.   This version did not disappoint.   The audio version was lovely, but I also left some post-it flags in my paperback version.  I look forward to more in the series.
