Wow! I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. I absolutely flew through it. The cover and marketing made me expect a romance novel, but this is NOT that, FYI

There’s great mental health rep and Japanese Canadian rep. I was so invested in the relationships between these friends, Dee and her sister, and all the other side characters. Dee’s sister Tilley was almost unbelievably obnoxious, but that’s about my only criticism. I’m glad that the message wasn’t “love will save you/make you happy.” More of this, please.

Awesome. It was originally hard to get into but what an amazing novel. Love the lovely tropical backdrop for talking about mental health. It was awesome. And that it was set in Toronto - amazing

I normally don’t take more than a month to read a book but this one I knew I had to take my time with. I have a family member who has the same disorder that Dee has and even though Dee is fictional, there were some mirroring aspects that felt familiar from the outside looking in. Leanne doesn’t shield the audience away from the messiness of mental illness and how sometimes those that are in your corner need just as much grace as you do. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a little bit of humor, honesty and realness.

Reading this felt like you were at the resort yourself and witnessing everything go (up and) down. I felt so much for the trio especially the two ladies. Every scene between Dee and Misa felt like a tug at my heart. Something about female friendships make me feel that way.

I cringed every time Dee talked about Matt even though I can kind of see where she was coming from? It’s just…. Girl, stand up.

The real star of the novel is Tilley. She was such a lovely and fun character to read—I laughed at almost every time she did or say.
