This series has taken me completely by surprise! The more of the books I listen to, the more I'm falling in love with the characters and the story.
Steris is so lovely, and I love the fondness that has sprung between her and Wax.
And Allik giving Marasi his mask??
I'm so excited for the final book in Era 2, but I absolutely don't want it to end either

4.25 stars.
I'm still not entirely "sold" on this series, for some reason, though I appreciated the expansion of the setting beyond Elendel, and the greater stakes. Each successive book does seem to be better than the last.

Best in the series so far, but so felt a little like a generic adventure. Hoping from more from the last one, but each one of these has been better than the last

I had a fantastic time here. Not to sound like a hater but it fully made up for me struggling to get through era 1.
Pros: Steris (aka loml), magic stuff.
Cons: I find suit like not the most compelling villain... felt like a downgrade after bleeder (love her can we bring her back). also why was there that one chapter where Wayne just fucked around?

This was a fun adventure, though a bit “off the rails” with the Indiana Jones plot line in the last third - though this is fantasy so is anything really “off the rails”? I made the decision to read era 2 after era 1, before Stormlight Archive, and in the book it became apparent I was missing something. I did read spoilers and then it all made sense, but in hindsight I would recommend reading at least this book (and I presume the next?) after SA.
