i have been waiting for the final book of this trilogy since reading the first and the second book in the same month last year.

this got my head aching, spiralling and pounding from the neverending mysteries Avery keeps getting herself into. when i tell you i was screaming and crying at the moments when Avery and Jameson truly confess to each other "Tahiti". THIS BOOK WAS SHOUTING AT US THAT JAMESON AND AVERY WERE ENDGAME.... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO GRAYSON'S CHARACTER? HELLO? JLB REALLY DID HIS CHARACTER DIRTY ON THIS ONE BRUH...

back to the mysteries and adventures, we went through with Avery. she is indeed a very risky gamble and in the end, it was the perfect choice for her how she spent the money. ANDDDDD, DO I SEE A FORESHADOWING OF A NEW SERIES... MAYBE A SPIN-OFF SERIES "THE GRANDEST GAME" AFTER THIS HMMMMM... ANSWERS, WE NEED ANSWERS!!!

Barnes doesn’t know how to not escalate. Reading The Inheritance Games is like watching a great tv show. The first season or two grab you and hold you and you always need just a little bit more. Yeah, there are a few rocky points, scenes a bit clumsily done, but you barely notice.

Then seasons three to five really hit it. Everything is just perfect. Well, maybe the increasingly outrageous cliffhangers are getting a bit out of control, but it’s all fun.

With The Final Gambit we’re at seasons six and seven. The twists are so wild it’s hard to even care anymore. Time to wrap things up before it just becomes tiresome.

The Final Gambit should be the finale. We’ve taken the characters and the secrets and the backstabbing and the money just a smidge too far. But this is not the final volume. Book 4 is out, 5 will be soon. And then there’s a spin-off series.

Because of course there is.

The Final Gambit was okay. Not the best of the series, but it wrapped up most of the loose ends and resolved many duhn duhn duhn twists. (Maybe it wrapped up and resolved everything. I lost track.) I have zero interest in reading more of the series. More secrets revealed, more plots twisted is just ho-hum at this point.
