i liked this book, probably around like a 4.2/5! to me it didn’t hit as well as his first set of stories, but i enjoyed many of these the same. my favorites were “exhalation”, “the truth of fact, the truth of feeling”, and “anxiety is the dizziness of feeling”. the only story i didn’t really enjoy was “dacey’s patent automatic nanny”.

ted chiang has an amazing knack for writing stories with incredible world building in such a short amount of pages—it is truly an art.

I ended up skipping around stories at the end. Seemed like every story had an underlying theme of caretaker and I don't know they just didn't hit for me.

I was so excited to read this one but instead it just put me in a reading slump.

I didn't think it was possible for me to ever love another short story collection as much as I did Ted Chiang's "The Story of Your Life and Others" but then Ted Chiang struck again. I lack the vocabulary describe how awed I am by this man's mind. Dude's an absolute genius and it's an honor to be alive at the same time as him.
